Show Rules

No post dated cheques. There will be a $25 fee assessed for each time a cheque is returned

1. Exhibitor Responsibility:SC-160E Pg. 109

1. Exhibitors are responsible for being knowledgeable of and following current rules set forth by APHA and show management.

2. Completing entry form legibly and accurately with information exactly as is printed on horse’s registration papers.

3. Pre-entering and post-entering horses in correct halter and performance classes. A horse entered in the wrong class may be transferred to its correct class prior to that class being judged.

4. Reporting to the gate promptly for the class and notifying the gate personnel of tack changes needed.

5. Being considerate of other exhibitors and show management. Additionally, exhibitors, owners, trainers responsible to be knowledgeable of Rule SC-085.A Drugs and Medications, forbidden and conditionally permitted substances. Conditionally permitted substances require a completed medication report to be filed with the show office.

2. The show secretary or office staff MUST inspect the registration papers (or copies of) on each horse entered. Entries shall be made in the name of the recorded owner. Geldings are not permitted to show with stallion papers. Rule SC-175G, pg. 118.

3. To enter Amateur or Novice Amateur classes, you must present a current year APHA Amateur or Novice Amateur card and own your own horse according to Rule AM-020, pg.206.

4. Those Youth exhibitors with youth ID cards, please present them during the entry process.

5. The condition of submitting entries or the first entry into the show ring of a horse or exhibitor shall be deemed as acceptance of the APHA Official Rule Book and Zone 10 General Rules.

6. The final right to settle all questions or disputes arising incidentally to the horse show is reserved to the show management and all exhibitors, trainers, riders, or other participants therein, as a condition of admission, give unqualified consent to such methods of settlement and agrees in advance to be bound thereby.

7. Individual class entry registration will close Three (3) classes prior to entry of that class.

8. Show management may combine or split classes according to APHA rules, SC-185G pg.122 and YP-175B pg.209. If classes are combined to make APHA point class, only one buckle will be awarded in that class.

9. Anyone withdrawing (scratching) from a class after entering shall forfeit their entry fee in accordance with Rule SC-185A. This also applies to those exhibitors with open checks. Exception: Non-Point classes.

10. Exhibitors/owners competing for All-Around or High Point Awards MUST indicate such to show office before entering the arena for the first time. In addition, the exhibitor/horse MUST be entered in at least the minimum classes to qualify for the award at the time of register.

11. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR:

SUPER HORSE: To be posted at the show.

HIGH POINT YOUTH: One horse/one rider combination, must show in at least three (3) youth performance classes (all Youth classes including Halter will count toward award)

HIGH POINT AMATEUR: One horse/one rider combination, must show in at least three (3) Amateur performance classes (all Amateur classes including Halter will count toward award)

HIGH POINT NOVICE AMATEUR: One horse/one rider combination. All Novice Amateur classes will count, along with Amateur classes that are not offered in Novice Amateur Program i.e., over fences, western riding, reining, games, and halter.

HIGH-POINT JUNIOR & SENIOR HORSE: Horse must compete in three (3) or more classes in the division (Junior, Senior, or All Ages). Halter is also mandatory.

12. Ties for All-Around and High-Points will be broken using the following steps:

1. The horse that earns the most firsts
2. The horse that places the most times
3. The flip of a coin

13.SUPREME HALTER HORSE: will be calculated as follows: All Grand Champions will come back under each judge. If no Grand was awarded, first place horse is allowed to come back to show for Supreme Halter award. Each judge indepdendently hands in their champion and the horse receiving the most champions is the Supreme Halter Horse. In the event of a tie, the horse receiving the most 2nd place votes will be the Supreme Halter Horse.

14. Yearling Halter: Must show in Halter, Trail in Hand & Yearling Longeline. Must show to all 6 judges in two classes. The Halter division will be judged while in Longeline line up. Trail & Longeline will be held within respective APHA class. $20.00 registration fee. Points: eg. 1st - 6 entries, 1st - 2 entries - 2 points maximum 6 points, No extra points for Grand or Reserve.

15. Awards must be picked up by the end of the show or be forfeited.

16. All Awards, entries, stabling, and pay-outs will be paid in Canadian Funds.

17. THE ENTIRE SHOW WILL BE HELD INSIDE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TRAIL AND OVER FENCES CLASSES, DUE TO SET-UP

18. All disputes will be ratified within 30 days of the show.
