2010 Zone 10 Zone - O - Rama
August 5 - 8 Calgary, Alberta
The Zone 10 Committee recently
was advised that the available dates in Red Deer would have conflicted
with the Zone 1 Zone - O - Rama. The Committee wanted to make
sure that the exhibitors who want to make it to both Zone shows
were able, and therefore needed to relocate the 2010 Zone 10 show
in order to keep the August 5-8 dates. We have confirmed that
a number of positive changes have been made at the Calgary facility,
which will make it more exhibitor friendly and it looks like the
2010 Zone 10 Zone-O-Rama may well be the best one yet.
YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS IT!!!

Zone 10 Zone-O-Rama Report
The
most prestigious award of the show is the Cam
Clark Superhorse award, which was a lovely
Crates Show Saddle. Since the Zone show started in 2003, if anyone
has had their heart set on the Superhorse award, it was the horses
prsented by the Daniels family from Lethbridge that they were
going to have to beat. This year was no exception, with a repeat
performance by "Blue Eyed Storm". He is a fine example
of a versatile paint, being pretty as well as very talented and
capable of handling any event. This very striking sorrel Tobiano
gelding is quite capable of doing the speed events, English &
Western classes, cattle classes and, as well, he can be at the
top end of the Halter Class!
Jack and Cathy Daniels and their crew who helped to campaign "Stormy"
to his second Superhorse win should be congratulated on the fine
display of horsemanship and talent they brought to the 2009 Zone
10 Show.

The
Supreme Halter horse of the show was A Truly Yella Lady. This
fine filly did in fact shine at the Zone Show. She not only excelled
in Halter, but also won the Yearling Triathalon. This event consisted
of Halter, Trail In Hand as well as Lungeline. The Triathalon
was once again sponsored by Tester Farms of Innisfail. The two
beautiful sculptures went home in the arms of Glen and Ruth Hyde.
This is truly and example of the top quality horses raised and
shown by Hyde Show Horses and presented by Todd Bailey. The filly
was sired by Mr Yella Fella and her dam was A Truly Cool Lady.
She has headed south to further her career and hopes to see some
of her fans at the World Show. The Supreme
Halter award was sponsored by Alberta Premium Whiskey.
